UNSANE MAPPING

A couple of notes.
Website CSS was created through a heavily modified version of Eric Meyers 'Complex Spiral' which can be found here: Complex Spiral. CSS is powerful and worthwhile; unfortunately, some browsers don't display this layout properly, eg. Internet Explorer. Since I've taken care to bring my page and CSS in compliance with W3C standards, and the authors of IE haven't; I am not going through hoops to make it display properly in proprietary software. If you want to see how the site was intended to look, I suggest you get you get yourself a real, standards-compliant browser like Firefox. Not to mention your surfing will be a lot safer.
The styleswitching javascript was found at A List Apart, and the random headlines was made using a script from Javascriptkit
About the pictures:
The Radiolarian picture was made by Michael Spaw who makes some amazing 3D and 2D art. The dragonfly and the fossils was found on Google Images. The leaf is a photo by Hijiri.
I used Dreamweaver MX and to some extent Notepad, and Photoshop CS.
Site is optimized for max. 1280x960. You need Java for some features, but not for basic functionality.
With all that outta the way, why dont you:
